Soccer
Today LS2 had soccer. We were put into teams and in that team we had to challenge each other playing a game of soccer. I was in the non bibs team and with that team we were working so hard to try and get the ball in the goal. We first versed team blue, we were working so hard and we were working together as a team and for that game we won 4-0. We then versed team green, with that team we tried our best but unfortunately lost. We moved on and versed team red, my team tried and tried but again we lost. My team was feeling a little down but we moved on and played team yellow which was our last game. We were ending off with a positive attitude weather we win or lose, we were playing our hardest and we weren't giving up but as we came up to the end, we unfortunately lost again. We all had fun and played our best even though it was our first session of soccer.

Atletics Day
Today we had Athletics Day. TIt started off with a nice weather but as we got through the day it started pouring with rain. The year 7's & 8's got split into 3 groups. For the year 8's the first activity was in the hall and it was Rob The Nest. We had fun and showed a lot of participation also throughout playing that game it was very tiering but we all managed to try make our teams come 1st. The next activity was the sponge relay and it was a lot of fun. Out of all the fun we had, Gozan's team won and came 1st. Next game was the long jump. Now this was very tricky because the grass was slippery. All we had to do was to see who could jump the furthest. We have finally came 1st for the first time. We would like to thank Mr Ogilivie for organizing all of these activities and the staff members and the parents who came down and supported this event. I want to just say a huge thank you for all the groups who showed a lot of team work and team spirit in all the activities. We would also like thank the Tamaki College students for running all the different activities.

Team Paper Plane
This is a collage that I made based on Paper Planes. For our maths, the whole class were put into groups. In my group there was Ana, Afu, Silivia, Thomas, Sylis and Harry. We got told to select the best plane in our group and we have picked Thomas's plane because it flew the furthest. Our group won the finals competition because our plane flew the furthest. It was really competitive and challenging with the other groups. Our three measurement were 11.20, 14.00 and 14.01. As you can see, the furthest was 14.01. We were very proud of our results.

Paper Plane
For Inquiry yesterday we got put into groups to work collaboratively together based on making paper planes. Our topic was all about flight, and based on that topic our task was to create a paper plane to see how far it goes. We were using our searching skills to find sites about how to make paper planes. Our group has finally completed making a paper plane so we have tried flying our planes off the deck, but when that happened our plane went straight down heading to the ground. We failed and failed alot of times but the thing is that we all never gave up.

Touch
Today we have been doing kiwi sport with Trava. As a class we have been learning what skills you need when playing a game of touch. The thing I have learnt when playing touch is that when you get touched you have to make sure you put the ball down so that you don't cause a penalty. if you do a penalty you have to hand the ball over to the other side. We all had a fun day today, especially getting to know things that we don't know. Today LS2 has learnt a lot about touch, and when playing a real game of touch we all will use our skills that we learnt in a actual game.

Rhythm Interactive
Today our school had a very interesting fun day. We had visitors that came to our school and was teaching us about rhythm interactive. We played on the drums and made different beats. The visitors were Lucy and Johnny. We all had to keep an eye out for what they were doing and we also listened really carefully to Johnny and Lucy. I learnt that action speaks louder than words.

Panmure Library
This is a photo that Mrs Anderson took from when we were at the Panmure Library. On Friday we were invited to the Panmure Library to see Stig Wemyss (the voice of Andy Griffins books). We got to the library, and everyone was excited to see the famous Stig. In the library we saw all his books and CD's, as Stig came out he hooked us in with his humor. Stig had prizes to give out after we did some of his challenges. He was also telling us about a new app that had all his books on it, and it was called Borrow Box. We had a lot of fun with Stig and we would like to say a huge thank you to the librarians for providing and supporting this event. If you want to check out his books go check out Borrow Box.

Sketch Note
Here is my photo's of my sketch note. The first sketch note was Athletes, then it was questions, Then we did Rio, and the last sketch note we did was Olympic Medals. Sketch notes helped us understand the learning because no body else had to understand it only yourself. When your doing sketch notes, you can either use words or pictures. You don't need skills to do a sketch note because nothing has to be perfect. Our LI: Create a sketch note to recall information in our own words or pictures. Sketch note helps us to keep ourselves focused and another thing you could also do is to make up a story using pictures that you can retell.

Here is a photo of me training for Cross Country. We had to train for cross country but first we did warm up's to get our body to wake up to start running. Mr Ogilvie set us a pace to run for the whole entire laps, once we came to the last lap we had to sprint to end up with. The first time we ran we did 1 lap and after that we added some more laps on. We ran around the whole field at school. We did Cross Country for endurance, which is to keep ourselves fit.

Ripper Rugby Interschool
Yesterday the year 5, 6, 7 & 8's went to down to Dunkirk Reserve for the Rugby Cluster Day. We had some people that came from Otahuhu College, there names were Manu, Rulon & Paea. We also had the coach come from Otahuhu College and his name was Lesley. We all started off warming our bodies up. Our first game was against Bailey Road, we had a draw which was 3-3. Our second game was against Point England, unfortunately we lost 2-7 but the thing is that we all tried our best. Our third game was against Tamaki Primary, it was a pretty tough game but we had won our game by 1 point, 2-3. Our fourth game was against Sylvia Park, unluckily we lost again, 3-5. Our fifth game was against Glen Brae, it was a pretty tough game and a pretty good school to beat against. We lost again by 2 points, 3-1. Our final game was against Sylvia Park again. We all took part and we all had fun playing our last game. We luckily won our last game to end our last game with. We won by 2 points, and the scores were 5-3. We all played hard and we all tried our best to win all games. A massive thank you to Mr Oglvie and the students that came to help us form Otahuhu College.

Run, Jump, Throw
Today for our kiwi sport (Run, Jump, Throw) we were learning on knowing our skills for high jump. I learnt that when your doing high jump you have to have slitely bent legs, scissors legs + scissors arms and also when your doing high jump you have to sprint so that when you jump over the bar it dosen't fall. The thing we were focusing on today getting our skills right. We had to form a line against the wall, we had to line up boy girl then Mrs A would split us up into 2 teams. Both of our teams had to do the scissor kick to get over the bar but before we did that we practiced by standing beside a line pretending it was the bar, then we had to do left left, right right. What I mean by left left right right is that when your jumping over the bar while doing the scissor action at the same time, you have to make sure if you jump with you left leg, that means you have to use your left hand to do the scissor action, and if you jump with your right leg you have to use your right hand to do the scissor action. The side I got use to was my right, only because I jump higher on my right, but on that day I jumped from using my left, the only reason being was because my goal on that day was to improve on jumping high and using the scissor action properly to get my legs up high. Another thing I learnt on that day was that when you jump over the bar, your toes have to be pointing up in the sky so that when you jump, you can jump higher from how you normally jump. I have to say that day was pretty challenging but it was actually fun and interesting learning new things about high jump.

E-Ako Maths
Here are my screenshots that I took while I was doing my E-Ako Maths. These show that I was trying to learn my fractions well enough to answer a question just like that. I have improved on my maths, but my goal for maths are to know it fast enough just to answer it before 3 seconds. I have learnt lots in maths, especially my fractions. For fractions I have learnt that two thirds of 15, you could divide 15 by 3, then multiply five by two. I really enjoy doing maths because maths for me is fun !
