E Groups Opinions

For the past few weeks we were learning about pigeons. We learned a lot like how they risked there lives to send messages in WW1 & 2. This DLO have to be about our group opinion. This DLO was the last DLO for our topic. We have to write our own opinions about if you think pigeons are special or pests. I think that pigeons are special because they help save people's lives even though they make a lot of mess such as leaving guano on the ground and caring diease.

Reading Task

For reading we were put into our READ groups. Our READ group letter is E, and our group was working our follow up task based on Pigeons. We have been working on a DLO talking about weather Pigeons are Pest's or are they special. We have been working collaboratively together as a group trying to get all tasks completed.

Reading Skill Game

These are my screenshots that I did based on my 3rd reading game. This game is called Detective Notebook. I found this game hard but I managed to play it whether I liked it or not. I was happy I got the first one right, so I earned a gold star. I would always look back at the text then answer my questions carefully. I have learnt alot even though this game was a bit to complicated.

Reading Skills

Today for reading we had to play some reading games. I selected to play Questioning Cube. It was very fun playing this game and I really learnt alot. My skill on this game was to read the question properly then answer them. This game was very challenging.

Smart Searching Challenge

This is my presentation that I did with my partner Jessie. We have made a DLO based on Basketball in the Golden State. My partner and I have been working collaboratively on this DLO to get it completed. Our task was to ask ourselves questions then answer them. We have found out that the best top Basketball player in the Golden State is Stephen Curry.

Word Clines - Reading Can Do

This is my DLO based a reading can do. I have done a activity on Word Clines. I have learnt lots about word clines, the definition of word clines are finding other words that are the same. E.g (Happy, Joyful, Delighted and more). My goal for reading today was to actually find a interesting words that I hardly use.

Read Theory

Today for reading we started off with doing Read Theory for 20 minutes. While doing this, I learnt to understand the text and to think about what the question is asking me to. This site will help you with your reading. When I want to answer a question I would always look back at the text to make sure I get my answer correct.

Sketch Note

 Here is my photo's of my sketch note. The first sketch note was Athletes, then it was questions, Then we did Rio, and the last sketch note we did was Olympic Medals. Sketch notes helped us understand the learning because no body else had to understand it only yourself. When your doing sketch notes, you can either use words or pictures. You don't need skills to do a sketch note because nothing has to be perfect. Our LI: Create a sketch note to recall information in our own words or pictures. Sketch note helps us to keep ourselves focused and another thing you could also do is to make up a story using pictures that you can retell.

Current Events: Olympic Spriit

This is my current I did based on the 500 meter run. For current events this week, we have seen two athlete's help each other up after getting tripped over. Unfortunately one of them have crushed their ligaments in her knee. The two athlete's were Abbey D'agostino and Nikki Hamblin. They have showed great sportsmenship between each other and they have both done alot of teamwork. They have also showed us how to be a great role model. This was a excellent example showing how a great role model helps one another. The thing that the author wanted us to learn from watching these Olympic athlete, is that we need to help each other by making us learn to have a fair play and to work as a team.

Hoverbike - Reading

This is my photo based on adverting a futuristic Hover Bike. My partner Silivia and I were working collaboratively on making a simple ad based about a Hover Bike using persuasive language and many other types of features. This was really easy task to do and I guess this this activity was very fun.

Book Character Parade

 Today was the Book Character, we had to decide on choosing a character in a book. I came as a school girl. The reason why we did this was to bring the magic of books to make t alive for the juniors (Younger kids). We had visitors that came to school such as Gangster Granny and more. I really like what I saw today because I saw some fantastic people wearing different costumes. A big thank you to Mrs Millward for organizing this even for our school. I hope this will carry on next year!

Current Events

This is my current events that I did on voting on leaving or staying in the EU.  I have gave a consequence (Point of View) about why it affected the Britain voting on whether they should stay or stand alone.

Logo Design

This is my DLO that I did based on our Forgotten Silver. I have chosen to design a logo Majestic lion pictures. I have used different effects, different layouts and also different types of colour effects.

Reading - Smog

This week for reading we have been talking about the super smog in China. We were given this follow up to complete. We had to use things like Text - Self Text - Text & Text - World to complete this task. While I was reading through this article and I saw a picture with a lady looking at a phone during the smog, that picture reminded me that doctors in the hospital wear the same mask.

Pollution In China

This is my DLO on the pollution in China. I have made a DLO based on what the instructions were to do on this activity I have 3 photos and I have explained what I had to do to make me get a high score.

Word Clines - Reading

This is one of work that I haven't put on my blog yet, It has been sitting in my drive for days. Anyway this is my work that I have done based on our reading can do's. We have got given a task to find a word and describe that word. I have chosen the word cold, and as you can see I have described what that word means. This task is called Word Clines.

Pollution - Synthesizing

This is my my connection to synthesizing to the pollution in China. For reading this morning, Mrs Anderson set up a following task for us to do. What I learned from the pollution in China was that they don't have school for the kids and that don't give them a good education.

China Family Tree & My Family Tree

This is the china family tree compared to my family tree. I only have found out that your only allowed 1 child in China. I have read a article called Millions and Millions of people. The thing I have learnt was that most of the families in china have a small amount of members. We had to make a DLO based about showing people what it looks like if we compare our family tree to the china family tree.

Annyong Means "Hi"

This is a DLO that me and my partner Cecillia has done. This is our DLO based on comparing schools from New Zealand and schools in Korea. The thing that I got surprised of while finding facts about schools in Korea was that they only have sand and concrete, but if we compare it to ours we have grass. The most exhausting thing about Korea was that at college they have 16 hours but comparing it to Nz college schools is that we only have 7 in a half hours in college.

Ballad Poems - 6 Hats

This is my groups DLO based about the Ballad Poems. A Balled Poem is a poem that is been said by someone. The poem is put into 5 different video's based on the Ballad poems. We as a group completed this task under 6 thinking hats.
