Book Character Parade

 Today was the Book Character, we had to decide on choosing a character in a book. I came as a school girl. The reason why we did this was to bring the magic of books to make t alive for the juniors (Younger kids). We had visitors that came to school such as Gangster Granny and more. I really like what I saw today because I saw some fantastic people wearing different costumes. A big thank you to Mrs Millward for organizing this even for our school. I hope this will carry on next year!

Advertising

For writing, we played a collaborative game on advertising. We were put in to groups to write down the same thing that was on the paper, but the thing was that the writer wasn't allowed to see it. After the game we had to write what advertising is, but only with using 25 words. Later we made a DLO based on what we were doing. Advertising is a way for business to promote their products. Advertisers persuade their target audience's into thinking like them and to trick people into believing their advertisement. It was a lot harder doing it rather then watching it.

Attributing Images

Today I was working on a DLO on attributing images mainly based on the Olympics. The Olympics is in 1 week an a half. That is only reason why we were mainly attributing on images based on the Olympics. The thing you have to remember is to make sure your photo is labeled for reuse.

Orienteering

Today the year 8's have been doing orienteering with Leon and Elaina. In orienteering, we have learnt lots about what the rules are, we have learnt that sometimes you have to go in order with the map. Me and my partner Ana has been working collaboratively to get all letters clipped by reading the map, which was pointing towards North. Me and Ana's time was 18:10. It was really hard running from one place to another but I give orienteering a 8/10.

Life Education

Today after lunch, the year eight's had the opportunity to work on our booklets for the life of education. So far this week, we have learnt lots about our body system and making the right choices. Today me and Paige was working in our booklets and the activity we were working on was the word search, based on whats in a cigarette.
